I’m a Brazilian teacher and a passionate language learner. I really enjoy understanding how languages work, but my main goal is to use them in real conversations and connect with people from different cultures.
At the moment, I’m especially focused on improving my French and learning Mandarin Chinese. I like studying vocabulary and grammar, but I’m trying to move more and more toward active use: speaking, building sentences, and becoming more natural in everyday communication.
I’m patient, curious, and happy to help with Portuguese in exchange. I can also explain grammar, pronunciation, and cultural aspects of Brazilian Portuguese if that is useful.
I enjoy conversations about education, culture, travel, history, languages, books, and everyday life. I’m looking for friendly, consistent language partners who enjoy learning and are comfortable correcting each other.

Hello! I am Melissa, a 29-year-old architect living in West London looking to expand my language skills. I am interesting in art, history, literature, dining out, tasting wine, dance, theatre, and exploring new places through travel.
- I have experience tutoring school children in English so would be well-placed to assist students with grammar and writing as well as speech. I am patient, friendly, and always interested to meet new friends and learn about new subjects!
- I have taken an introductory Italian course but I would like to get some practice in conversation, learning more vocabulary, and then learning more about the tenses.
- I studied French at school but have never had much opportunity to practice using it so would like to practice some conversation and regain my memory of what I learnt some time ago.
- I have a flexible schedule so could meet midweek or weekends, daytimes or evening. Ideally for walks in Holland Park or Hyde Park and surrounding coffee shops or pubs.
