Hi, I’m Sho from Japan!

My main goal is to improve my English so I can fully enjoy amazing movies and TV shows in their original audio, and connect with people from all around the world. In return, I’d be more than happy to help you with your Japanese! Even if we both stumble over our words at first, let’s have fun learning together.

In my free time, I’m a big fan of shonen manga like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Beyond that, I love watching MLB and hope to understand the local US broadcasts without missing a beat! On the music side, I’m really into metal and grunge, so I’d love to geek out over our favorite bands as well.

I’m especially looking to improve my listening and speaking skills through voice calls, so if you have Discord, I’d love to chat there too! Feel free to say hi—looking forward to connecting with you!

Arabic is my native language, I can try to help you with it.

I can communicate in English (not advanced).
I know some French ( I understand it well enough, but I can't speak well: lack of practice...).

I do know some Russian and I can understand it a little, but still consider myself as a beginner.

We can try to improve our English or French or Russian together

I'm making almost zero progress in learning Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese, UNFORTUNATELY!

안녕하세요? 저는 시드니라고 합니다. 네, 호주에 있는 도시처럼요 ^^ 근데 보통은 ‘이드니’라는 이름으로 불려요! ‘이’는 영어 성의 첫 음절에서, ‘드니’는 시드니를 줄인 별명이에요. 한국 나이로 26살이고요, 지금 독일 쾰른 근처에서 수학을 전공하고 있습니다.

초등학교 때에 부모님하고 여동생이랑 미국에서 독일로 이사해서 프랑크푸르트 바로 옆에 있는 비스바덴이라는 도시에서 자랐습니다. '비정상회담'을 자주 보시는 분들은 아실 수도 있는데 독일에도 수능이랑 비슷하게 고등학교 마지막에 보는 시험이 있습니다. 그게 바로 아비투어(Abitur)라고 합니다. 아무튼 저는 독일 '아비투어'를 보고 독일에서 고등학교를 마쳤어요. 그다음에..근데 이야기가 너무 길어질 것 같아서 여기까지만 하겠습니다 ;)

제가 언어교환 파트너를 찾고 있는 이유는 한국어를 공부해 왔는데 요즘 한국어를 사용할 기회가 별로 없기 때문이에요. 2016년에 한국어 공부를 시작했고, 올해 5월에는 TOPIK 5급도 땄어요.

몇 년 전에 오랫동안 사귀었던 한국인 남자친구랑 헤어진 후부터 한국어를 일상생활에 쓸 기회가 거의 없어졌어요. 그래도 10년 동안 열심히 쌓아 온 실력이 떨어지면 아까울 것 같아서 그동안 언어교환 파트너를 만나면서 한국어를 계속 써 왔어요.
