I grew up around volcanoes, glaciers, and northern lights, which probably explains why I love exploring the world. So far I’ve traveled to about 30 countries and enjoy learning about different cultures and stories.

今日は、テディーと言います。日本語を二年間ぐらい独学してきたアイスランドとアメリカ出身の高校新卒です。趣味は色々あるんですけれど、主に読書（日本の小説家が大好きです）、哲学、旅行、仏教の学び、そしてNHKのラジオニュースやその他の日本語のポッドキャストなどと言う勉強をすることは好きです。言語の独学にかけては、特に文法や言葉が及ぼす人間の考え方と習慣への影響力を解説するサピア＝ウォーフの仮説にも随分興味を持っています。未来は日本に在留したいので、その前に出来るだけ日本語能力を磨くのが大切な目的です。
現在の日本語実力は中高級だと言えるのでしょう。読解と聴解の方は上手いが、話すこと、そして書くことはいずれも苦手ですので、そう言った方面に助けをくれることが出来る人と是非言語交換をしたいです！私は英語とアイスランド語をどちらも教えることはできます。では、これを読んでくれるのに有難うございます。

I have always had great interest in Asian cultures (Japanese and Chinese) and I would love to practice and learn more Japanese, maybe try learn some Chinese as well. Can try help people with learning Icelandic and maybe some English (not a native speaker thought)

I'm sort of a Sinologist or Orientalist, picked up languages by not staying put anywhere and yet never really going anywhere nor leaving either. At present I study Philosophy and I have an ongoing ambition to improve my Classical Chinese. My English is native level. My Japanese is pretty good, but I need to work on my Chinese and my Korean.
