I have lived in Leeds for over 30 years now. I have always loved and been fascinated by current and ancient languages. When I was at school, I learnt french and german. Since then, I have learnt some italian, bulgarian and now I am trying to learn some basic mandarin. I enjoy travel, history, learning about cultures. I am going to China in the new year. I would like to learn a bit more chinese before then and after when I come back.

Hi there, I joined this group to have some socialising time. I studied and worked in the UK for 17 years and I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and learning more about them. I speak several languages, but some of these are getting rusty. These are German and Korean.
Furthermore, I would like to learn few Chinese words as I like watching Chinese movies and Chinese language sounds interesting. So if you like to have chat here and there or need a mate to go to places etc. I am happy to join you and meet up.

My name is Julian and I live in the Liverpool area of the north of England. I am looking to do a language exchange with a native Arabic speaker.
I studied Arabic many years ago at university and learnt Fusha and Egyptian dialect but today I would struggle to have even a basic conversation. So, if you're happy to help me become conversational in Arabic and are patient in nature it would be good to speak to you.
In return I can help you with your English. In my job I am an English teacher and I am also a writer so my level and understanding of English is above average. I can help you whether you want to just be able to speak conversationally or whether you wish to acquire a more sophisticated and refined English.
I have a relaxed approach to learning and try to make the sessions enjoyable and fun too.
I use Zoom for language exchanges though I'm happy to use an alternative if you prefer.
My interests are politics, literature, cinema, walking, swimming, watching football, chatting with friends in cafes and learning languages.

Hello I'm Nakul Tiwari
