Hi, I'm Al. I want to practice my Spanish and happy to help with your English. I'm in London regularly for work (and going out dancing 😁). My accent is ok but my grammar is very bad. I also like speaking with lots of slang / everyday language. I live in Sheffield and work as a radio sound engineer / designer. I am so excited to be here! Learning English is a brilliant new adventure for me, and I am loving every step of the journey.
I am originally from Hong Kong, where my native language is Cantonese—a language full of energy and culture. I recently moved to the UK, where I am so glad to continue my career in finance (I did the similar role backed in Hong Kong, so it has been absolutely fascinating to see how the industry works from both sides of the world!).
When I am not working, I like watching football, and nothing makes me happier than heading for a few pints and a good match.

I am looking for work in hospitality or outdoor leisure or IT. Language skills would help me in the first 2 especially and I love to travel and meet people. Some zoom chats or how this site suggests if video would be good. I am taking some lessons at the moment but have been doing so long enough to not be wasted on even more time in a learning language. Next to improve to fluency in French, beyond hearing familiar words to speaking in Italian and just getting some big steps in Japanese which I enjoy a lot. I would share the progress I have in French which I really want to try a lot or of course my language English.

My name is Pete and I live in Sheffield, the 5th biggest city in the UK. You probably haven't heard of it - but you might have heard of Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Def Leopard and other bands from here!
I'm a native (British) English speaker looking to practice my French. My daughter is Anglo-French (and lives in France) and I want to improve my English to make sure she can speak to me easily in her native language when she grows up.
I am a teacher of English as a foreign language and teach students privately online. I also volunteer teaching English to refugees and asylum seekers.
I'm very interested in politics and am active in The Green Party here in Sheffield/the UK. I know this isn't a subject everyone enjoys talking about, so we don't have to if you're not interested in it.
Otherwise, I enjoy reading (a lot!), writing, watching sport (football and cricket), going to gigs, spending time with friends...all the usual things!
